Private by choice.
People may put things here they have never said out loud. Here is what happens to your information.
Using CLEAR as a guest
You can describe your problem and receive its translation before signing in. That description is sent to OpenAI for the translation you request. The CLEAR application does not permanently save raw guest descriptions to its database. Your browser keeps a temporary local copy to recover from a refresh, expiring after 24 hours of inactivity. Delete this session removes that copy immediately. Other people using the same browser profile could access it.
Temporary server workflow records contain random identifiers and hashes used to check your translation confirmation, not your description. They expire after 24 hours and are removed during routine session cleanup. Sign in by email before CLEAR generates the full analysis.
Saving a Clarity
Only when you choose Save does the full Clarity, including the original description, structured output and saved reflection, enter your private account. Supabase stores account records and Clarities. Access rules restrict each Clarity to its owner. Authentication metadata is kept separate from the Clarity content. No public Clarity pages or searchable conversations are created.
Email sign-in
Supabase manages passwordless authentication and Resend delivers sign-in emails. We collect your email address for this purpose. Emails contain only the product name, a secure single-use link, expiry information and a security note. No Clarity content is included.
AI processing
We use the OpenAI API with response storage disabled. This does not mean zero provider retention: provider security and abuse-monitoring policies may retain submitted content. We do not opt your saved Clarities into advertising or model training. Avoid submitting details that are not necessary to understand your decision.
To measure running cost, CLEAR records the model name, operation, provider-reported input, cached-input, output and reasoning token counts, the price version and the calculated charge. A random 24-hour session groups guest costs. Signed-in usage is assigned through a one-way account reference so the product owner can see cost per account. The record contains no problem text, generated answer, email address or Clarity identifier. When a guest signs in, costs from the current browser session are assigned to that account. Deleting the account removes that assignment while retaining anonymous overall cost totals. Cost records are retained for up to one year.
Product events and feedback
Cloudflare hosts the application and stores anonymous product events and optional tester feedback. Events contain only a stage or action name, a random session identifier and a timestamp. We also record request type, response status and duration to find errors and slow responses. These records do not contain raw descriptions, answers, email addresses or Clarity text. We use short-lived hashed network identifiers to limit abuse.
Product events and request measurements are retained for up to 90 days and optional feedback for up to one year, then removed during routine session cleanup. Feedback is stored independently of your account. Please do not include personal details in free-text feedback. We use it to understand usefulness and improve this test product. We do not send sensitive text to advertising analytics or use Clarities for advertising targeting.
Deleting your information
You can permanently delete an individual Clarity in My Clarities or delete your account and all its Clarities from Account. This removes application database records, removes the account assignment from retained AI-cost records and ends access. Deleted data may remain temporarily in providers’ security logs or backups under their retention policies; deletion cannot recall a summary you already copied or shared.
